Budget by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman - Tax for fiscal 2020-21
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday unveiled the budget for fiscal 2020-21, vowing to boost the income of Indians and their purchasing power, in a bid to revive domestic economic growth that has slumped. FM said her Budget 2020 is woven around three themes– Aspirational India to boost the standard of living, Economic development for all and Building a humane and compassionate society. FM said, ‘Fundamentals of the economy are strong and that has ensured macroeconomic stability. Inflation has been well contained. Banks saw a thorough cleaning up of accumulated loans of the past decade and then they were recapitalized. Companies were provided an exit through the IBC. Several steps on the formalization of the economy were taken up.
